Dr. Sean Hershberger
Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

Sean Hershberger, DDS, MS attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as an undergraduate, then moved across campus to the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. After growing up in Central Nebraska and spending eight years in Lincoln, he and his wife Abigail packed up their two kids and moved to the east coast to join the U.S. Navy Dental Corps. Eleven years, six more kids, radiology specialty training, and four moves later, they returned to Lincoln to re-plant their roots.
During his time in the Navy, Dr. Hershberger practiced general dentistry for five years prior to entering dental radiology training at the University of Texas Health School of Dentistry, a public institution for health professions in San Antonio, TX, while still active duty. He then returned to the Navy environment to practice dental radiology. During his Navy tenure, he practiced alongside so many phenomenal dentists, many of whom became like family as they all served their country together far from home. At each stop, he was entrusted with positions of leadership to educate and develop junior dentists into confident and competent practitioners and leaders. He practiced at two of the largest dental clinics in the world where an incredible volume of dentistry is collectively produced. In such environments, communication and teamwork are paramount for patient safety and successful outcomes.
Dr. Hershberger believes in a comprehensive approach to patient care in which accurate diagnosis is fundamental. With board certification in oral and maxillofacial radiology, he is a trusted diagnostic resource for the dental community. He co-founded Capture 3D Radiology, a virtual radiographic interpretation platform with an entertaining and educational social media presence. Outside of dentistry, he loves being with his wife and eight children, especially at the beach, and he’ll never turn down a round of golf.
